Atila Ghashghaie is a software architecture researcher and the designer behind the O²Prex project. With a background in the design of machinery and electronic circuits, he brings a unique, systems-level perspective to software engineering.
🎓 Academic Background & Expertise
Atila holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Solid Design and Mechatronics, complemented by advanced expertise in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with a focus on Control Systems. This solid engineering foundation is paired with professional mastery in Python, LabVIEW, and the entire family of C programming languages, making him equally adept at hardware-level control and high-level software architecture.
🔧 Professional Career
His industrial career began in 2000 (1379) with the design of die-cast molds at Behvar Company. Driven by a passion for machinery design and guided by mentorship from prominent industry figures, he transitioned into designing and manufacturing production and control machinery for various industries.
Since 2004 (1383), Atila has been a key member of the Fanafan Engineering Company, a leader in medical equipment design and manufacturing, where he currently serves as the head of the design unit. Between 2013 and 2016 (1392–1395), he also held the position of R&D and Machinery Manager at Takin Company, where he developed several advanced production and control machines using cutting-edge technologies like image processing and molecular analysis based on magnetic fields.

- Mehr Pouyan College
- Manzoumeh Shargh Institute
- Forooghe Danesh Institute
- Tehran Institute of Technology (Niavaran and Mirdamad branches)
He continues to teach engineering sciences, control and automation, and programming languages like Python and LabVIEW at the Tehran Institute of Technology. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with numerous companies, including Shayan Kav, Tahlilgaran Sanat Hooshmand, Aliyaj Kar, Tarahan Sanat Parsian, Arya Technique, Sepid Pech, Kharazm Pech, Kanoun Pech Va Mahreh, Sepand Pech Yazd, and Sanat Samaneh Farda.
📖 Publications (4 Books)
Atila is also a distinguished author of four specialized books, bridging theory and practice in data science and software development:
- Theoretical Foundations of Data Science and Machine Learning in Python – Bridges the critical gap between Python libraries and executing real-world data science projects.
- Integrated Development Environments (IDE) – A focused guide on Python-based IDEs, exploring smart features that streamline the coding process.
- Cython Programming – A practical guide to combining Python readability with C performance, accelerating projects by up to 3000%.
- Machine Learning: From Theory to Practice – A focused, independent resource for mastering core machine learning principles through clear, step-by-step examples.
💡 Philosophy & Approach
My professional philosophy is rooted in years of teaching and working within the Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) paradigm. I’ve always believed that to truly master complex concepts, one must see them. This belief is the cornerstone of O²Prex.
For years, I observed how challenging it was for learners and even experienced developers to grasp the intricate relationships between classes, methods, and modules in large codebases. I designed O²Prex to bridge this gap by providing a visual, industrial-strength architecture canvas that displays OOP items as independent nodes within a clear tree structure. This approach significantly enhances comprehension, making it easier to understand, navigate, and manage complex projects—a lesson learned from countless hours of teaching and development.
🎯 A Tool for Both OOP and FP Paradigms
While O²Prex excels at visualizing OOP structures, its core philosophy is broader. Its “Architecture-as-a-File” model and visual dependency analysis are inherently valuable for developers working in Functional Programming (FP) as well. By providing a bird’s-eye view of your entire project—regardless of the paradigm—O²Prex helps you manage state, functions, and data flows with equal clarity. It stands as one of the best choices for both OOP and FP developers seeking a powerful, visual architecture management layer.
🔧 Notable Projects
While Atila has worked on various innovative concepts, two of his prominent projects are particularly noteworthy:
- O²Prex: This project represents his vision for a Visual OOP Architecture IDE. It is designed as a new layer above traditional IDEs, offering features like visual architecture canvas, live dependency analysis, and AI-ready exports to help developers understand and manage large codebases more efficiently.
- Uranus IDE: A modular, cell-based Python IDE built with PyQt5. Inspired by Jupyter, it was built from scratch to provide full control over cell-based execution, a custom code editor, an object inspector, and even support for RTL languages like Persian, showcasing his commitment to creating powerful and inclusive tools
🎯 Vision for O²Prex
With O²Prex, my vision is to revolutionize how development teams interact with their projects. It is built for developers, architects, project managers, and organizations who want to move beyond code and design the architecture before the code.
